Cooperation between avis and kwota has an immediate impact on circular economy and carbon offsetting

AVIS, a leading mobility services provider, has launched a cooperation with KWOTA, a startup that helps businesses and their customers offset carbon emissions. The partnership with KWOTA confirms AVIS’ commitment to sustainability and reduces the environmental impact of its activities.

KWOTA’s platform enables AVIS and its customers to offset the environmental impact of the use of cars. The compensation for environmental impacts will motivate material producers to recycle more secondary materials. This, in turn, reduces the need for new raw materials and increases the reuse of materials, resulting in at least a 50% reduction in CO₂ emissions from production.

As part of the partnership, AVIS has committed to offset the CO₂ emissions of its vehicles, which has currently already accumulated 134,250 km, the equivalent of 22,764 kg of CO₂. This compensation helped to recycle a total of 37,877 kg of secondary materials. Moving towards AVIS’ long-term goal of creating a carbon neutral future, the collaboration with KWOTA is one of the best ready-made solutions available on the market with an immediate impact on CO₂ emissions. AVIS has decided to act now, ensuring that the contribution to reducing environmental impacts can be measured and monitored.

“We are delighted that we can work with KWOTA to help our customers offset their carbon emissions,” said Hardi Isok, Chairman of the Management Board of AVIS Baltics. “Environmentally sustainable management is a core value of AVIS and we are constantly looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact. In cooperation with KWOTA, we are able to offset our emissions while providing our customers with a simple and efficient way to stand out in a positive manner and help increase the reuse of materials.”

The partnership enables AVIS’ customers to offset their carbon emissions by contributing to KWOTA’s circular economy projects. These projects support local material producers, such as Räpina Paper Factory and Dagöplast, in recycling materials and reducing the carbon footprint of production, which is a costly and time-consuming process.

“We are delighted to cooperate with AVIS and help them achieve their sustainability goals,” said KWOTA’s CEO Rain Vääna. “Through our partnership, we can make a significant contribution to reducing carbon emissions and promoting the circular economy.”

AVIS encourages all of its partners and customers to further analyse their monthly environmental impact and implement measures to reduce their carbon footprint. A compensation starting from 15 euros per month may seem small, but even that has an immediate and positive impact. Facts

Only 7.2% of materials are reused in the world – down from 9.1% in 2018 when the volume of circular economy was first calculated. This means that of the 100 billion tonnes of raw materials extracted each year, merely 7.2% is returned to the economy as recycled materials. (Circularity Gap Report 2023)
